Colors, like people, each have their personalities. Come learn what makes them clash, harmonize, and sing.

Have you ever wondered how someone got a certain color in his or her work or tried mixing that color only to find you couldn’t get it? This course is a hands-on approach to exploring color theory and how it works for painters. You’ll learn about the interaction of Hue, Value, and Chroma, as well as limited palettes and color harmony through practical exercises and studies. Not all paint is created equal and you’ll learn how to read labels to find the best paints, how whites and blacks are not all equal, why red and blue don’t always make purple, and more. Come ready to take notes, work hard, create art, and have fun. For all skill levels.
