For a long time, I’ve been fascinated with hanging objects; with items poking into the painting or hanging from some unseen source. I’d been incorporating hung and pinned items in my larger works for a while when someone pointed out to me the still-life paintings of the Spanish artist Juan Sanchez Cotan. Of course, I loved his work at once! Here is a hanging cherry I did for the Indra’s Net installation.
