We are not all comfortable being in the spotlight. But this bromeliad is showing its true colors and seems quite serene there.
Some bromeliads have such highly saturated color that they can look unreal. They are spiky and gangly and strange-looking. Just like some people. Perhaps that’s why I like them so much. This one, set against an inky sky with a spotlight overhead, is fully present and basking in the limelight.
