Last week of Out of Place exhibit

For anyone in the area who hasn’t made it out to the show yet, there is still time. The show is up through next Saturday. Several of the pieces in the show have dark backgrounds. That’s because I went a little crazy with the new paint color I got from the Vasari Classic Oil Color grant. It’s called Shale and it’s a proprietary blend they made for the plein aire artist Scott L. Christensen, and its much, much richer than Burnt Umber. Gail Spiegel from Vasari said I’d fall in love with it and I did!

Angel Wings by Jean Reece Wilkey, oil on panel, 14 x 11 inches

Here’s the info for the show…Unsettled Gallery & Studio, 905 N Mesquite, Las Cruces, NM, Wed-Fri 10-5 pm | Sat 10-4 pm
